Youmin is one of Southeast Asia’s pioneer certified Forest Therapy Guides. She trained with Cohort 18 in 2017 and has since been offering the practice on a full-time basis. Currently based in Singapore, Youmin founded Xiu Nature Connections to offer forest therapy experiences with the intention to ignite the importance of deep restorative rest and deep connections for the wellbeing of stressed-out and disconnected city dwellers. In her practice, Youmin has partnered and worked with several organizations including designing and hosting of community nature programs for the National Parks Board of Singapore, wellness workshops for spas and resorts such as Museflower Retreat and Spa in Thailand, staff wellbeing events for companies such as GIC Singapore, wellbeing support programs for community groups such as Singapore Cancer Society, introductory workshops for related industries such as the Department of Tourism of Philippines etc. Her work has also been shared at various international conferences. On the invite from the National Parks Board Singapore, Youmin published an article on “Urban Forest Therapy”. Youmin holds a degree of Master in Science in life sciences from the National University of Singapore, and a postgraduate diploma in education from the National Institute of Education Singapore. Youmin is a certified forest therapy guide with the ANFT. As one of the pioneer certified guide in Singapore and the Southeast Asia, she has been guiding regularly since 2017 and has extensive experience in both in-person as well as remote/online/virtual sessions. She is passionate about sharing nature connections and deep restorative rest for well-being, especially for stressed out and disconnected city dwellers. She has extensive guiding experience from working across various projects – from mental health support for youths and community groups, to staff well-being and support for various schools and corporations/MNCs, to bespoke events for brands, to personalised group and 1:1 wellness sessions, to talks for the general public. She has also guided and taught at both local and overseas retreats and conferences including in Finland, the Philippines, Thailand and the US.

Having trailblazed this heart-work of forest therapy in Singapore and Southeast Asia, Youmin is humbled and delighted to now share this with more people by stepping into the role of a trainer. She brings her heart and all her experience from her guiding to support all who are willing to step onto this life-changing and relational journey.

Youmin is also trained and certified in yoga nidra, mindfulness and is also an ANFT Certified Trail Consultant. She earned her BSc. Science (Honours) and Master of Science (Life Sciences) with the National University of Singapore, and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.

Youmin was trained in cohort 18. She has mentored and/or trained the following cohorts: cohort 52 (Australia 2020), Ginkgo cohort (2020/2021), Dusky Dolphin cohort (2021).
